During my U.S. History class in high school, I was excited and eager to learn about Mexican-American history in depth. I then came to realize that my school's textbook only had 1 paragraph on Mexican-American history. This made me think that this movement was not as big as others and therefore it was less important.
I finally had the chance to learn about my history in depth during my time in college and learned that Mexican Americans had such an impact in the U.S. This video criticizes U.S. history textbook publishers who chose to highlight certain parts of history that excludes most Americans. So I decided to design those pages myself and put them in the U.S. history textbooks that most high schools use.
